To verify the performance of Keep safe system®, we have conducted extensive blast tests.
The tests took place at Drivecenter Arena in Fällfors, a renowned testing facility in northern Sweden, in collaboration with RISE Research Institutes of Sweden as the certifying body, and along with partners and experienced blasting experts from the industry. All testing was carried out under controlled conditions and strict safety requirements.
To challenge the system’s capabilities, we designed and manufactured several window units and a glazed door, incorporating various glass combinations for security levels such as EXR1, EXR3, and the highest level, EXR5. The dimensions of the tested units exceeded those previously subjected to similar tests, placing high demands on both construction and materials.
Blasts were carried out using dynamite in quantities of up to 23.4 kg, corresponding to the highest security level, EXR5. To simulate realistic threat scenarios, a specially adapted testing environment was created in the form of a modified shipping container where the units were rigged. Collaboration with RISE and the blasting experts ensured a professional and meticulous evaluation of each step.
The results exceeded expectations. Glass and frames remained intact, and the tests showed no evidence of fragmentation inside the test environment— a critical criterion for approval. The success demonstrates that it is possible to use thinner glass and lighter constructions without compromising safety, paving the way for more aesthetic and cost-effective solutions for our customers.
Blast testing is a key part of our efforts to ensure that Keep Safe System® meets and exceeds the demands of modern security solutions. Strong collaboration with partners and experienced industry experts is crucial to achieving these successes and driving innovation in safety.
